The episode begins with Abhira saying she will find the ring. She wonders where it went since no one came to the outhouse, and the doors and windows are closed. Ruhi sees the ring. A flashback shows Ruhi watching Abhira fight with thieves. She waits until Abhira falls asleep, then steals the ring and leaves.
Abhira holds the empty ring box and smiles. The flashback ends. Ruhi says Abhira stole her love, so she stole the ring. She is living with the pain of Armaan leaving her at the altar for Abhira. Now, everyone will see that Abhira isn’t right for this house since she couldn’t even keep track of one ring. Abhira sits and cries, worrying about what will happen now that Armaan is getting ready for the engagement.
Armaan asks Dadi why she won’t give the ancestral bangles to Abhira. Dadi says she asked Abhira to change her name, but she refused. Abhira comes in crying. Armaan says it’s wrong and insists on getting married with all the rituals. He doesn’t want Abhira to change her name.
He praises Abhira, calling her responsible. Dadi disagrees and says the engagement will happen without this ritual. Vidya removes her bangles and says the ritual will happen, and she will give her bangles to her daughter-in-law. Abhira cries and leaves. She feels she is not responsible and wonders what to do. Armaan greets her, and Ruhi watches.
Armaan asks if the parlor canceled her appointment or if she didn’t like the dress. He says there is still time for the engagement and asks her to tell him what happened so they can sort it out. Abhira starts to speak, but Vidya interrupts and tells her to get ready quickly.
Vidya asks if Abhira has Armaan’s ring so she can decorate it in the ring stand. Armaan says Abhira will handle everything. Vidya laughs and leaves. Armaan asks again what happened, but Abhira says she will get ready and come. Ruhi thinks she knows Abhira will tell the truth soon.
Ruhi regrets letting her love go and decides to fix it. She believes she has a right to the ring. Vidya and Manisha enter, and Ruhi hides the ring in a cooker. She makes excuses and fights with Manisha over making khichdi, causing the cooker to fall.
Ruhi apologizes and offers to clean up and make the khichdi. Vidya agrees and leaves with Manisha. Ruhi retrieves the ring and vows not to lose it. Armaan wonders why Abhira looked worried. Krish pulls him aside, and everyone asks him to do something romantic for Abhira.
Krish insists on something special, and Armaan agrees. Abhira worries that Armaan will be heartbroken and wonders what to do. Armaan expresses his feelings for Abhira. Krish hugs him and jokes about getting engaged to him. Charu and Kiara cry happily, and Aryan says Abhira will fall for Armaan. Armaan laughs, but Abhira feels she doesn’t deserve him.
Vidya places the dress on a tray. Ruhi offers to take the dress to Abhira and get Armaan’s ring. Vidya tells her to watch the food while she and Kiara go. Dadi comments that Abhira is proud to be middle class and should look like their class.
Vidya agrees. Abhira sees Vidya and Kiara. Vidya notices a torn cushion and asks about it. Kiara blames rats and says she will call pest control. Vidya gives Abhira the dress and jewelry and asks for the ring.
Abhira says she needs to do a puja in front of her mother’s picture. Vidya agrees and tells her to get ready, respecting the tradition. She leaves. Kiara mentions that Dadi was upset last time when the saree got loose and offers to get a pin to fix the dress. She leaves. Abhira says she can’t lie today.
