The episode begins with Ranvijay noticing a plant that Vaiju has planted for him. He asks why she didn’t give it to him earlier. Vaiju explains that everyone else gave him expensive gifts, but she thought carefully about this plant.
She says planting a tree is like making a prayer, and she planted it for his health, prosperity, and success. Ranvijay recalls Jaya’s words and thanks Vaiju.
She hands him some soil and asks him to accept it as a sign that he has accepted her gift. He takes the soil and watches her leave, then notices Jaya’s gift.
Meanwhile, Vasundara is making sweets for a puja. Ranvijay questions why she keeps so many fasts and what the logic is behind men being healthy if women fast.
He tells Jaya not to keep the fast, but Jaya insists they do it to show their love. Vasundara agrees, saying the fast is kept for love and symbolizes the special bond between husband and wife, showing they can endure difficult tests for their love. Vaiju watches Ranvijay.
Vaiju goes to her room and cries while looking at her mangalsutra. She decides to fulfill her responsibility and keep the fast. The next morning, everyone gathers for breakfast. Vaiju offers to serve the food, but Vasundara says only husbands can serve it.
Ragini looks sad, and Vaiju goes to console her. Ragini is unsure whether to keep the fast, and Vaiju tells her to decide for herself. Sulekha and others arrive, and Sulekha insists Ragini should keep the fast.
Vaiju questions why, pointing out that Ragini’s husband never cared for her and it’s her right to decide. Sulekha retorts that Vaiju doesn’t understand relationships since she isn’t married. Ranvijay intervenes, asking Sulekha to stop.
Vasundara suggests starting the day with sweets instead of bitterness and comforts Ragini with a hug. Vaiju goes to the kitchen and cries, thinking about Ranvijay.
Vaiju resolves to ensure Ranvijay’s happiness and fulfill her duties as a wife. She starts eating food, deciding she should keep the fast. Ranvijay enters and asks what she is doing. Startled, she drops the plate.
He questions why she is eating food from Jaya’s plate. Vaiju explains that wasting food is like insulting it. Ranvijay suspects she is hiding something and presses her to tell him. She denies it, but he insists. Arhaan arrives, calling them for the aarti. They go and participate in the aarti, where Vaiju prays.
After the aarti, Ranvijay approaches Vaiju as she waters the plant. He asks if she kept the fast for him. Vaiju confirms, assuring him it won’t cause any trouble. She explains that Ragini asked her to attend the aarti.
Ranvijay tells her not to complicate things and to stop the fast, but Vaiju insists it is important to her. She reminds him that he said he wouldn’t stop her from doing her duty and that she has this right in their relationship. Kaveri arrives home and mistakenly thinks Ranvijay is with Jaya, but she sees Jaya inside the house.
Ranvijay expresses concern that their secret could cause sorrow for Jaya, even though it’s not her fault. He doesn’t want her to be sad and worries about what they will tell everyone if the secret comes out.
Kaveri tries to eavesdrop and wonders what secret he is talking about and to whom. Jaya calls out to Kaveri, and both Vaiju and Ranvijay notice her.
